A closing ceremony was held on Friday, 18th November 2022 to conclude the SAFTI International Cadets’ Conference (SICC) at Officer Cadets Mess, SAFTI Military Institute. The 5-day conference welcomed delegates from 16 countries and was held from 14 to 18 November 2022 with this year's theme being "Global Leaders: Emerging Stronger Together". Representing Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF) were three Officers and six Officer Cadets, had the opportunity to convene with Syndicate Leaders and Syndicate discussions respectively. The impetus of the Officer's Workshop was the issues and challenges of developing future military leaders whilst the Officer Cadets topic focused on “enhancing our training ecosystem”, ``building climate resilience” and lastly on “strengthening our purpose”. Through their interactions with one another, the OCS delegates were able to gain valuable insights and a way forward through group discussions and presentations with participants from across the world.
In addition, the Officer Cadets were also given the chance to witness several SAF assets exhibited in SAFTI MI. The conference also allowed an opportunity for the delegations to visit and discover the Multi Mission Range Complex (MMRC). Through SICC, all the participating countries were able to exercise defence diplomacy by sharing holistic ideas and concepts through the exchange of views and methodologies between one another.
